Everyone eligible should be able to enter.
We want this website and the entry form to work for everyone, including people who use screen readers, keyboard navigation, magnification or voice control.
What we've done
- The site can be used with a keyboard alone, with visible focus and a skip link on every page.
- Pages are designed for strong colour contrast and to reflow on small screens and when zoomed.
- Animation and film are switched off for people who set their device to reduce motion.
- Background films are silent and decorative. The launch film has spoken narration with optional captions, and the argument guide has captions and a full text version.
- The entry form labels every field, explains every error in words and links to the field that needs fixing.
- Your draft is saved on your device as you write, so you can take breaks.
We aim to meet the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2 at level AA. The site has not yet had an independent accessibility audit. We test it ourselves with a keyboard, a screen reader and automated checks.
Known issues
Some images and films on the site have no text alternative because they are decorative and carry no information. If you find anything that doesn't work for you, please tell us.
Adjustments for entrants
If you need an adjustment to enter, for example more time because of a disability, or help using the form, email hello@tenyearsfromnow.org well before the deadline and tell us what would help. We consider every request individually, including extensions and other ways of submitting, and we'll reply before the deadline.
Report a problem
Email hello@tenyearsfromnow.org with the page address and what went wrong.
